Meet the Story Behind Schrock’s Country Kitchens & Furniture

At 12 years old, Gideon Schrock worked alongside his father, building cabinetry and furniture. A natural at woodworking, by the age of 23, Gideon branched out and began constructing cabinets on his own. With over 19 years of experience under his belt, Gideon used his father's tireless work ethic to create and lead his own team at Schrock's Country Kitchens and Furniture. 

James Edrington founded the E.M.M.A. Woodshop Co. in the fall of 2015 with the intention of creating heirloom quality furniture and to provide a refinishing service the was sorely lacking in the area. After several successful years where the business consistently grew James and Gideon were introduced and a new partnership began. In 2021 James and his brother Kacey became full time installers for Schrocks Country Kitchens and partners in the long term growth of Schrock’s as a business. 

2024 brought new opportunities for both Gideon and James. Gideon and Mary will continue to branch out and create new service areas in Michigan and the surrounding states. James and his wife Sallie purchased the shop and furniture store and will provide a refinishing service in addition to the cabinetry and furniture services Schrock’s already provides. James handles the day to day operations of the shop while Gideon maintains the lead role in designing and quality assurance.
